Jeff Banister (1986) recently served as a special assistant in baseball operations for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

He previously served as the manager of the Texas Rangers from 2015 through 2018, compiling a 325-313 record. In his first two years on the job, Banister led Texas to a pair of American League West titles. In 2015, he won the American League Manager of the Year Award.

Selected by the Pirates out of the University of Houston in the 25th round of the 1986 MLB Draft, Banister spent seven years playing in Bucs' system and recorded a pinch-hit single in his only Major League at-bat in 1991. He served as a Minor League manager, Minor League field coordinator and Major League field coordinator for the Pirates before becoming their interim bench coach in 2010. He serves as the bench coach from 2011-14.
